More information on each musician:
OUT OF ISLA
After performing in opera and concerts throughout Europe and in their native Puerto Rico and Cuba, Emmanuelle Bordas and Aviva Cambara met in Hells Kitchen in Manhattan. They joined forces to compose music that highlights their respective international and music backgrounds, and that mixes blues, rock, jazz, Latin, and occasionally a classical sound. Cambara’s unique dark color on the piano unites with the soul and voice of Bordas. Their music reflects the vast variety and uniqueness of each person, yet the same shared life experiences of loss, love, death, joy, sorrow, and chasing after dreams. http://www.myspace.com/outofisla http://www.reverbnation.com/outofisla
SARAH AROESTE
Ladino chanteuse Sarah Aroeste, inspired by her Sephardic roots from Spain and Greece, brings a fresh new sound to Ladino and Sephardic music. Determined to help bring Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) music back to life for a new generation, Aroeste travels the globe fusing both original and 15th-century Ladino folk songs with rock, funk, jazz and blues. Performing music that spans the Mediterranean in an exotic blend of East and West, Aroeste combines flamenco melodies with Latin and Middle Eastern rhythms, and all with a modern soul. http://www.saraharoeste.com/
NADINA MAURI
Born in Argentina, singer, percussionist, composer and arranger Nadina Mauri graduated Escuela de Musica Contemporanea (Berklee International Network) and moved to NYC in 2007 to follow her musical career. In the Big Apple she found a way to fusion the styles she grew up listening to like samba, bossa nova, jazz and soul, with reggae and hip-hop components. Performing solo with her guitar, Mauri performs lyrics that are said to be funny, sarcastic, and some connect deeper with spiritual journeys and the search for awareness. www.myspace.com/mrsnadina
